The number of Kiters and wingers is constantly increasing in Miami. Meanwhile, so are the rules and restrictions. Offering flat shallow water, Crandon park is one of the most popular spot to ride in Miami. This heaven comes with its burden and it’s important we work all together as a community to respect them.
Following our last events involving individuals riding at Crandon park outside of business hours, we have open the Chanel of communication and we are actively working with authorities to find a way to extend the hours of operation.
The ultimate decision is outside of our scope, however we can take some steps to show the benefits for the community and all parties involved. As far as MKB is concerned , it remains our contractual duty and responsibility to apply and enforce the strict rules imposed and dictated in our contract and the Master plan.
Keep in mind, we are on the same side. We ride as well and would also enjoy an early and late session.
Today we ask for your help by taking an active step and signing this petition. The goal is to show the authorities the riders’ interest in extending the operating hours at Crandon park and hopefully lead them to a decision that will benefit the entire community.

I love Crandon, I go there either to ride or bike or enjoy beach time with my family. As I was playing soccer with my kid last Sunday at 7pm in the exact same place where I ride (no wind that day), I thought how beautiful and relaxing sunset there is, and how much I would enjoy riding at that time. For parents like me, it’s not always easy to find the perfect time to go, and having some additional hours would definitely help me enjoy that incredible place. Thanks!
Imagine telling bicycle riders and joggers that only can do it after 10am in key Biscayne
Please consider extending the hours, please. For us who work Monday to Friday having the option to enjoy the outdoors after work is just priceless. Please. Thanks.
Early and late hours in the day are hours where there is no collusion with bathers. It should be a no brainer. Parks opens from dawn till dusk. Please allow us the same schedule.
Makes sense that sunrise > sunset is available to everyone. We are good, responsible stewards of our amazing ocean and natural environment. That and we make the county a lot of money, with parking fees.

Kiteboarding, swimming, walking and other sports are extremely beneficial for a healthier society. Having Earlier hours as well as later hours for the sport , by logic would decrease the risk of accidents and liabilities. Having a better schedule and more hours would help avoid congestion from tourists and regular visitors at the beach and conflict of space with riders at regular hours.
