Over the last 2 yrs, I have had coyotes kill my 6 mo cavapoo and he was just on my deck. They even killed my 15 yr old coonhound. They just attacked at 9am on 3/7/26, my 5 Mo old cavapoo, who was taking a poop 15 yards from me, by our gazebo. I screamed and ran towards my dog and the coyote dropped him, thank God. Rocky has 6 puncture wounds on his neck. The coyotes have to have a den very close by. Can't we reduce the number of them. Their even going after my horse and tormenting her. This is bull. If anyone can help me, my name is Naomi and you have my email already. Thank you.

Got one of my roosters this morning at 730, started trying once st 330am then again at 5am and after I thought it was safe because daylight and human presence I let him out. I wont shoot them but will poison or trap and remove them, not waiting on Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife Services to continue to protect the OVER POPULATION OF COYOTE AND COUGAR AND BOBCATS I have 81 yr old mom daughter, dogs cat lost 1 cat and now 14 chickens had 15

humane removal of a predator that is capable of such massive numbers is only transporting the problem to another area, and if this is not taken care of it will affect our deer and elk numbers as well as small game they need to open up hunting of this destructive animal to control its numbers not disperse them.

I agree with all comments for reducing the number. I used to feel pretty safe taking my dog out in the front yard with me staying right on my heels, no more! Time for professional intervention otherwise it won't be safe anywhere on the ranch with shots being fired everywhere.

Since coyotes are predators, they should be treated as such. Any predator, whether a dog, coyote, mountain lion, wolf, etc. when attacking livestock, pets, domesticated animals or people, should be subject to immediate dispatch by any responsible adult present and witnessing the incident. State & most county laws allow a property owner to use whatever means necessary to dispatch the threat. If someone breaks into your home you have the right to use whatever lethal means to protect your self, family, or pets, livestock, etc. A coyote insid3e my 6' chain link fence will be subject to immediate dispatch.

Nature is out of balance on CRR and we need immediate safe, controlled, HUMANE intervention to bring the coyote population back into balance here. Pets are being killed at an alarming rate now; it is not even safe to be close to one's house with a dog on a leash - very high possibility of coyote attack. Don't want to see hundreds of residents shooting up CRR and inevitably hitting something/someone other than a coyote - we are headed for that. Please take action now to bring the coyotes back into balance with us.

We need to get the coyote problem under control before they start attacking small children! They aren't afraid of humans

Our coyotes are not comfortable to be around anymore. They don't run unless they are young. Their population is becoming more than natural because of the pets that we all have. I would like some chickens but won't because it will bring the coyotes around.

I agree that their numbers have increased in the almost 20 years that I have lived here and the rabbit and quail populations are almost nil.

I have lived here for over 10 years. I have had numerous encounters with coyotes when either out walking or riding my horses. I have witnessed packs trying to get into our fenced yard (they did not succeed). I witnessed another time in which a single coyote was trying to coax my dog at our weakest corner of fencing (due to fence is on a rock rim and deer weakening it when jumping into our yard) one evening. I was suspicious something had been on going on for a few days. We improved that corner of the fence and have not seen the coyote back. Another time (also on the rim side of property) in a heavy snow storm, a pack was trying to jump up onto one of our rockjacks to get into the horse corrals. I have seen them going down the middle of our road in the middle of the day with a chicken or cats in their mouths. I have been stalked all the way to our driveway when out riding our horses (for about 2 miles). I was stalked another time riding through a canyon on the ranch and then up to the road. I stood and faced the coyote that also was in the middle of the road, he stood and stared at me no farther than 10 yards away and never flinched when I yelled at it. The worst scenario was at the end of Horny Hollow Road a short distance from the last homes down there. This time an entire pack had surrounded me and by the time I was aware of it, I was a ways from my truck. I did not have a gun to protect myself or my animals so I dismounted and prepared to fight them off. They would close in on me and I would charge one at a time, yelling and swinging my rope at it, keeping my dog and my horse at my side. Multi tasking at its' best. I called my husband to bring a gun as I was not sure I could keep the entire pack off my dog. They were aggressive and had no fear of me. It was a slow process to get back to my truck and keep them at bay the whole time. It was snowing and visibility was also a challenge. I know the coyotes will always be a part of CRR but it is a p

My dog was killed by a coyote a year ago in my front yard while I was 50 yards away!!! He yelped three times and I couldn't get there fast enough before he was dragged off a quarter mile away. I have lived in CRR 16 years and have noticed the numbers of coyotes rising and the lack of fear they are exhibiting! I would like something done as this situation is getting out of control. They have no natural predators here and need to be thinned out. If they are going for livestock, then why not a two year old child? What is it going to take? My husband has called the ODFW and been pretty much told that nothing can be done. I sure hope this petition will change the situation and show the serious problem we have here. Thank you.

Having lived here for over 10 years I feel there has been a definite in crease in the number of coyotes on the ranch as well as an increase in the number of encounters between coyotes and humans and coyotes and domestic animals. Having no predators in the area and an ample supply of food - rabbits and deer (and since deer cannot be hunted there are alot of them around!). I have noticed the number of rabbits has really gone down in the last several years as well. We lost one cat several years ago to a coyote, which I understand is fair game if they are an outdoor cat, but it was in my backyard and I say it walk by with my dead cat in its' mouth. I think it has come to the point where the coyote population on the ranch needs to be assessed and dealt with to keep the residents safe. Many of the coyotes unfortunately seem to have lost their fear of humans. Thank you for looking into this matter.
