I am an Event Planner/Designer in the GTA and I have been unable to work since March of 2020. I have lost so many clients due to COVID as well as a years income. I’ve had to sell my home because I was unable to pay my mortgage and it’s put a massive stain on my personal life along with my business.

I am a bride who has already has to postpone their wedding once and am with a hall who has no heart in giving money or funds back to us if there are government restrictions in place. Please let us have a wedding with those we love!!!! Not having. A wedding puts barriers on people starting their lives together!

The most momentous day of a couples life should not be ruined by a limitation. Thousands have been spent, and will be lost on vendor deposits. Schools are open, Costco is open, Walmart is open. The same parameters can be applied to weddings. Restricted numbers should be based on the venue and its full capacity. A hall that can hold 1000, cannot even open for 50 indoors. So many are losing money, patience and hope. The US is open with weddings happening left and right. Restrictions can be put in place...but realistic ones. Australian weddings are able to have 300 guests, with 50 dancing at a time. Why can we not provide negative COVID tests within 72 hrs of the wedding day? I don’t see the difference between that and flights coming into Toronto.
Young newlyweds to be should not be robbed of the best day of their lives. They should be able to have the wedding of their dreams, without sacrifice, or hurting anyone along the way.

Getting married is supposed to be a way to celebrate a union amongst your loved ones. A celebration of two lives choosing to spend the rest of their lives together. Please let us at least have that.

It is very safe to go to a wedding with all the restrictions that they have an order at these halls!! There could be social distancing and the people that you sit with at the table could be your family members from your Bubble! We know that those weddings that were 400 people or more It’s not happening but I think a wedding of 150 to 200 people as possible! With restrictions these beautiful young people can get married and have the wedding that they deserve to have!! I am writing this message because my son and my daughter in law are getting Married this year in September and they deserve to have a beautiful wedding… They work so hard to plan, to saved and spent so much money on deposits and stuff to have a beautiful wedding!! As a mother I’m gonna make sure that my kids have this beautiful wedding… So Mr. Ford open up these venues so these beautiful couples can have their weddings!!
