We are starting this petition in hopes of hiring more counselors for counseling services at Stonehill College. A group of concerned students has started this initiative in hopes that the administration at the College will seriously consider acting in getting more counselors on campus. It is imperative that students have the adequate resources available to help them in their time of crisis, or simply just to have someone to listen. There is an extreme need for more counselors on campus as waiting lists are simply too long for a student who needs support and resources. “Everyone has a mind; therefore, everyone has mental health.” Therefore, we must act to provide students with the resources and support that they need to succeed academically, socially and emotionally.
