The history and beauty of these locations is best celebrated by allowing people to attend for events such as weddings and parties. This attempt to close these venues is absolutely ridiculous and a waste of what could be better spent time.

Events keep these historic sites alive and thriving for all to enjoy. Without then many of these homes will fall into disrepair in a few years. Who exactly is lobbying for such a bill?

Do the right thing, please. Don't put these wonderful people out of business. You aren't just affecting the business but thousands of others who planned to have weddings there and the vendors who have future bookings there. This is a petty waste of the cities time. Focus on what's important.

These venues bring in jobs for people in our community. The venue owners themselves, wedding planners, photographers, caterers, DJ's, designers, etc. The wedding industry, which I'm sure plays a role in Nashville's tourism, thrives off venues like Cedarwood and Riverwood Mansion. Ultimately, shutting down these venues will do more harm to your community than good. I hope you'll rethink this decision.

Shutting down the outdoor components of these notable venues will deter weddings & events from the Nashville area which has boosted economic growth & made our city a popular destination for weddings & events. These venues have outstanding reputations. The clients who have already booked these venues for upcoming events, also, should not be punished for this Councilman's vendetta.

Nashville is one of the top wedding destinations in the nation. If there is a legitimate purpose for this legislation, please make a clear and concise case for it:
1) So that would-be brides around the nation are not spooked, scrambling, or deterred from future weddings here.
2) So that the thousands of wedding professionals in the area are not negatively impacted financially by a political blindside that will effect not only their bottom line, but the city's ability to create more jobs, business, and revenue.
3) So that if there is a legitimate concern prompting this action, it can be given a fair chance to be addressed by reasonable, responsible business owners.
4) To restore people's belief in government as not being an authoritarian entity, but rather one that is here to serve it's constituents.

I moved to Nashville for a career at Cedarwood, fell in love with the historic venue, and also was a bride at this beautiful venue. The thought of taking it all away disgusts me.

The bill is a complete surprise to Cedarwood and every other historic-designated venue in Nashville. We are unaware of problems or issues that preempted the introduction of this bill by Mr. Withers (district councilman representing East Nashville), and none of the venue owners were given an opportunity to address or resolve perceived issues. Mr. Withers' proposed bill is an example of irresponsible legislation.
