Councilman Withers Stop The Shenanigans!

Such beautiful places that people have beautiful ceremonies and events at.. Why would you ever do that...?

These historic venues bring in hundreds of thousands of dollars in out of state traffic. They provide jobs and bring in many destination weddings for hundreds of people. By closing these venues and curtailing their grandfathered in rights to have outdoor events, you will communicate to your constituents that you do not care about their jobs, history or Nashville as a city.

Would love to know the purpose other than to stop people from enjoying the beauty of these places

These establishments enhance our rich Tennessee history and because of the diversity these venues offer it is a huge economic boost for our city.

I don't like the unintended consequences of this bill on current or future venues. Please reject this bill!

Riverwood is a fantastic venue that holds great events for private and public events.

I got married at Cedarwood...the owners are so very respectful of their neighbors and community. These businesses are a beautiful part of Nashville and don't deserve this type of treatment!

Stunned that such a bill would even be considered. Belle Meade Plantation, Traveller's Rest, Cheewood Mansion, East Ivy Mansion, Cedarwood, Riverwood Mansion, Drakewood...all beautiful homes that depend upon the revenue from weddings and events to preserve these historic properties. This bill is taking our city backwards..not forward. What is this councilman thinking?

Part of the appeal of these locations is to have your event at a Historic Venue. Don't rob people of this and stay out of it. There are other things in this town that need your attention.

Please keep these venues outdoor spaces open . These owners and also those that visit theses properties are very respectful of the beautiful outdoor space that are so beautifully taken care of. I am often at all three of these properties and always find them to be extremely beautiful and enjoyable.

I serious think we should limit events to indoor only unless that does also include the plastic potables set up at some venues to expand space t for theses events.

We have only discovered many of these locations because of weddings. There is great opportunity to bring in non tax money to help with up keep and preservation of this history.

Please provide the people with the reasoning behind this. I don't mean some vague response either, I mean an actual explanation. I know from personal experience that Cedarwood takes great care to preserve their property and all of its historical value. Besides, what is the point of moving the events inside the historic establishment? It seems that having the majority of the event outdoors that it would cause less wear and tear on the establishment itself. Honestly, this sounds like someone just has their knickers in a twist because the events taking place are causing them some kind of inconvenience. Let's try and think about the greater good of the community, not pacifying an individual.

This bill is ridiculous and a waste of taxpayers money and a waste of our representatives time.

Councilman Withers: I urge you to rethink this legislation. Nashville's hospitality industry is booming in no small part due to the beauty and warm welcome rendered by Historic Home events venues. To close these venues will be detrimental to the entire city and the brides and other clients they serve.
