'Cosplay is not consent' signs to be placed around MCM expo

No one should be touched without consent, same with having a picture taken. Why this isn't common sense I don't know. Cosplayers are not there for you they are there for themselves, so be respectful.

Never been to a con, but it seems to me that an individuals right to privacy and personal space should not be in question if they are in costume or not.

This is really commonplace in North America and has been since about 2010. I'd love to see this enforced more prolifically overseas.

Shouldn't this be common knowledge by now? I guess I can understand that conventions and other such event environments can bring out the excitement and wild side in people, but I cannot understand the lack to ask people first if people can smother themselves all over their body. These signs, to a lesser extent, would be like the cigarette warnings placed on the back of the box: May be glanced at and still ignored at times, but will prove to deter people better than not being there.

As a fursuiter and someone possibly looking to cosplay, I HATE people who seem to think being dressed up as a giant fluffy animal or a anime/cartoon/movie character is us giving them automatic consent because it's not, if they want to touch, they damn well ask first.

This is an incredibly important petition that guests need to acknowledge to continue to keep cons a safe place. I hope MCM takes notice of this and do whatever they can to keep it from turning into an unsafe environment.

About time something was done about this. More people need to know what seems like common knowledge, you don't take a picture without permission or put your hands over a stranger without first okaying it with them.

In the same sense that people on a night out don't want to be groped just because of what they are wearing, we simply ask the same thing, no matter how revealing an outfit, no one has touching rights

More of these signs need to be around, it would raise more awareness to the issue. I definitely have yet to see a sign if there even is one.
