Coronado won't do it though. They're too afraid to lose their beach ratings...

Listen to your constituents, do the right thing, join your neighboring city IB, who has a much smaller tax base, and fight via legal means for clean, NON-POLLUTED Oceans and Beaches from IB and Nort along Silver Strand, Hotel Del, and Coronado Public Beaches. Please do the civic right thing and listen to reason to resented by virtue this petition’s message.

This is not just an issue that affect surfers. CBP officers who must work in the Tijuana River valley and Navy Seals who trained in the oceans in this region have reported illnesses due to coming in contact with sewage related bacteria and other toxic substances. The problem is only getting worse and it appears that the city of Coronado wants to hide its head in the sand. Switch flows come up to Coronado and beyond. This is everyone's problem.

Regular cross border water contamination has plagued San Diego for decades making beaches unfit for human contact for weeks out of the year. As elected servants of the People, it is the duty of. Coronado's City Council to throw their weight behind this measure.

Join the lawsuit to protect all of San Diego County from the pollution crisis we ALL face. It’s only a matter of time before Coronado beaches face closures too.

Been surfing in the area for 39 years and it’s only ever gotten worse. So bad now we can’t surf in Imperial beach anymore because signs are always up or risk of illness is so high. Surfers are just one small fraction of millions who are harmed by this atrocity, and the environment is deluged with toxicity as well.

Flesh eating bacteria is not a joke.

Imperial Beach, San Diego AND Coronado need to join forces to get the Federal government to make a permanent change for our region.

This is a no-brainer. The USA needs to be united in working with Mexico and creating a permanent solution to Tijuana sewage ruining IB, Strand, Coronado, and North Island beaches.

This needs to be addressed at a Federal Level. No one city can stand alone to take care of a beach we all share. I'm joining the Coalition!
