This is a disgrace. Way to shatter our children and make them feel less important.

Keep the tradition alive. I don't actually believe that the cords are being taking away because it "degrades the hard work of an honor graduate or pathway achievement." I think this is being done to save a little bit of extra money and if that's the case, that's wrong.

I have worked really hard to get my FFA pens or cords and everything and was looking forward to getting them and wearing them but if it wasn't enough to change cap and now they take this away!

It's not cool to get rid of cords such as 4-H. #IBleedGreenAndWhite

Most honor students will have extracurricular awards too, and they will not be bothered by those who have achieved in their extracurricular activities as well. All of the achievements should be celebrated!

Let kids be display their accomplishments they've made during their high school career. The class of 2016 and those after haven't worked any less than those before them. These kids deserve the opportunity to stand on that stage and be proud. Shame on you Cook High.

Cords are something that would be memorable something we can show off and be proud of. We can look back and say I remember wen I got a cord for this pathway or that pathway. Its something we look forward to achieving on high school.

I think the students deserve to wear all the cords they have earn. They study and work hard for them. I am a firm believer in education and anything a student does to improve his education should be represented by the student ad this is his/her day to shine. Why are you all taking it easy from them?

I believe the students should be allowed to wear the cords and stoles that they have worked so hard for and earned. I feel that by taking these away, the future classes will have less incentive to work as hard to obtain these honors. If this is to be done, I feel it should begin with the next freshman class and inform them in advance of the decision.

You should keep the cords. These students work hard for those cords and they deserve just like all the past graduating classes.

This should be student choice. Once again I disagree with the administration of Cook High and the Cook County BOE.

And exactly what is the reasoning behind this. Is it some more liberal issues about those who work toward goals and those that expect things to be given to them.? You go Gavin. So proud of you and all the others that have set and accomplished their goals

Ever student who has achieved something where a cord is usually rewarded should be able to showcase that cord! Not only honor graduates should have that honor.
Let's do this!
