Possessing cords at graduation may seem trivial to some people, but having cords is the only way to display one's achievements at his graduation ceremony. Even though one is aware of his personal achievements and some onlookers may view him as being vain or boastful, the hard work one puts into his high school career should be displayed, especially at graduation.

Every student who has worked hard through high school deserves to have tangible representation of that during graduation. It's not easy to earn cords and stoles, but those who do deserve to be recognized.
