The only words I can say are these......"what ill informed brainiacs came up with this." Of all things they want to take away from the students. We're supposed to be uplifting and encouraging our future generations not discouraging them. Cut out his nonsense and focus on other things....that needs change.

I personally had a child that graduated with cords. I feel like this made her strive to do better. This is an awesome way for the graduates to show just how hard they have worked.

To deny students cords other than for adcademic achievement is to tell them what they've done outside of their academia is not worthy of display & pride. Yes, scholarship is what school is mainly about, but it is not 100%. Some people do not perform well in that realm, but excel in others. As a 2013 Cook High honor graduate, I am actually more proud of what I accomplished outside of my academics. Let's not revoke ANY student his/her right to be pride of both graduation AND achievements in extracurriculars!

Cords are ways to show students' achievements through their duration of high school. One should show their involvement with pride and honor because those students have gone above and beyond to prepare theirselves for the next phase of life after high school.

As a parent and school employee for another Georgia school system since March 2006, I fully believe we should ne encouraging students to strive in ALL areas. Let these kids proudly display their cords for everything they have worked so hard to gain!

To graduate is a big achievement to seniors and we only graduate from highschool once that is a blow to everyone especially us

The reason that Cook County School system is doing this is-Think about the cost-$$$$. For the school to get them in, pay for them, etc.....The best logicalical answer to get the cords and robes is go to your State Representative or Congressman and start a Congressional Investigation. That will get everyone what they need and get the Superintendant in hot water cause he is definately not doing his/her job correctly. My father was a superintendant in Missouri, and it was always ran smooth.

Congratulations 2016 Seniors on your hard work and dedication to your education, CHS and our small town! I have personally seen the community work and personal commitment to academics and service that this class shows. These young adults have been loyal to academics and service. They are our future and I commend their efforts to focus on honoring the achievements of their class members.
