The Copper Flat Project was a former producing mine during 1982 which was forced to close due to a steep decrease in the price of Copper. The mine operated for 3 months and was soon after closed.

New Mexico Copper Corporation (NMCC) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of THEMAC Resources Group Ltd. THEMAC acquired 100% of the North American Copper Flat Project in May 2011 and is targeting production in 2018. NMCC is currently in the process of publishing a Draft Environmental Impact Statement, administered by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). NMCC has also been working concurrently with State agencies (MMD & NMED) to acquire all necessary permits for construction by the end of 2016.

The Copper Flat Mine, if operational, would provide a great economic boost to Sierra County, New Mexico as well as New Mexico as a whole.It is our desire to protect the economic base of Sierra County’s natural resources in a responsible fashion.

We support the Project and urge the federal and state agencies to grant New Mexico Copper Corporation the necessary permits to initiate construction and begin operations to provide much needed jobs and tax revenues to the county and state.
