Keep Copper Mountain protected from the damage of OHV use. We visit the area and WY in general for its natural beauty, wide open spaces and quiet serenity. There are plenty of areas for OHV use and if they cleaned them up, they wouldn't need more area to tear up!

I live on copper Mtn Birdseye pass and do not think this would be beneficial to anybody! More traffic, more trash . More land being tore up . It would also increase the fire probability on the mountain itself

Keep the land the way it is. There are plenty of other places for an ORV playground. I know people who value this land and take care of it strangers will leave it in ruins.

Wyoming does NOT need motorized access to every square inch of open ground. I have witnessed too much litter and feces left behind by wheeled humans in our mountains.

Copper mountain has a lot of great scenery and a lot of history that goes along with it it does not need to be destroyed like many other lands that the State and Government try to manage

There are reasons areas like this have these designations .Most of these areas suffer horribly just from the soil erosion caused by off road travel let alone the noise and pollution caused by this sort of activity. Everywhere I

I have spent much time and energy getting the word out there about this proposal. The feedback I am getting from the communities that are involved are NOT interested in developing this type of activity but they want to continue to promote the hunting, fishing, hiking, history sharing, horseback riding, camping, dinosaur admiring, boating, photographing and simply enjoying an area untouched by the human visitors that will look and go elsewhere if this takes place. I will be submitting these peoples comments who have already invested in businesses in the area so that the commissioners know that it is not just a few local ranchers who are not opposed to this type of activity but in a different area where it won't wipe out one of the last frontiers rich in history and unknown geological studies forever.

Leave it alone. It is a unique area that will get trashed if off road activity is allowed. There are plenty of other places for people to recreate on their ATV/ORV.

A blm study on ohv vehicles in the copper mountain area would have disasterous consequences on a delicate piece of land that due to the limited rain fall in that area, some of the least amount of precipitation in the country, could take potentially decades or more to restore. There is suitable ground that is less impacted elsewhere to conduct this study. This area has historical significance and is best utilized if preserved in its beauty as it currently exists.

There are millions of acres of public ground. There are NO TRAILS in this Copper Mountain WSA we are asking that this small piece of Copper Mountain be Protected! Protected for future generations! Wyoming is the one rare spot in the United States! Wyoming Does NOT NEED any more trails in an area that has plenty of legal roads.

So, my comment has also been deleted off this “fair” petition prior. So, here it is again. I will screen shot this as well and take it to social media if it gets deleted again.
Wyoming has nothing like what is being offered in this proposal. This is PUBLIC land and should be used for PUBLIC use. All Public, not just a specific group.
Deeming it Wilderness blocks all usage to the public unless you are on foot. You cannot use a bike, wheel chair, stroller, or any other means to access the land. Deeming it “Wilderness” by itself also limits the grazing rights to the ranchers around it.
The ranchers claim they want it closed so they can keep their grazing rights and current way of life. Fact of the matter is they pay massively reduced grazing leases on this land and make income off of the land by grazing their cattle on the lower section. However, none of their grazing right would be changed under this proposal.
They simple don’t want people near what they consider “their” land. Its not “their” land. Its public land.
Wyoming must deversify and become non-reliant on Oil and Gas alone to prosper. Opening this area to motorized use and camping brings in a mulitude of income to a town that desperately needs it. These people will need groceries, fuel, entertainment, restauraunts, lodging, etc. Riverton, Shoshoni, and Thermopolis will reap the benefits of the tourism it will create. Land values will begin to increase again, and it will help stablize an economy currently solely reliant on Oil and Gas.
Wyoming needs this.
