Bring Cookie Monster to the Museum of Arts and Sciences
On behalf of Central Florida's residents and visitors (and supporters of arts and culture everywhere), we hereby request a visit from Cookie Monster to the Museum of Arts and Sciences in Daytona Beach.
As one of the foremost public intellectuals of our time, Cookie Monster is uniquely positioned to understand and interpret the Museum's collections for a wider audience, as he has previously done elsewhere (link). MOAS, in particular, has plenty of subject matter for consideration, including the most complete skeleton of a giant ground sloth in North America, one of the largest single collections of Coca-Cola memorabillia in the United States, the largest collection of Cuban art outside of Cuba, a state-of-the-art planetarium, and early art and artifacts from several continents. It is also home to a hands-on Children's Museum that would make a perfect setting for a visit with Cookie Monster's younger fans.
The entire community will surely rally around a visit from such a distinguished guest, and the museum, children's literacy, and local cookie shops would likely see benefits for years to come.
It is high time to bring a resident of the world's most famous street to the world's most famous beach.
Note: This petition was created without the authorization or endorsement of the Museum.
