Buildings like this bring character to the town and stop it being identikit. It’s part of our history. George Clarke's Old House, New Home TV show had a similar house refurb (Red Rails). There’s a real opportunity here.

Used to pass this house on my way to school everyday. One of the few unique buildings in Colwyn Bay. Are we not meant to have any art deco houses in the future because 20th century buildings aren't preserved???

Yet another architecturally interesting and significant building to be demolished by a short-sighted council! Where have I heard that before?

We need less cars and more homes in line with climate and housing needs in addition to the fact that this is an iconic building that deserves protecting

What will replace it will be ugly and shoddy

This rare building should be restored and preserved. I would donate towards that, as would many others.

Once it’s gone, it’s gone… Too much of our cultural and architectural heritage has been sacrificed for the sake of bloody car parks. Enough.

A truly jaw-dropping piece of news. How could any local authority even consider condoning the demolition of this building. We have no few landmarks left and this looks like something to cherish. Wales has been seeking for fifty+ years to preserve its cultural heritage. This is not the way to do it!

A dreadful decision - and to demolish it for flats and a car park just says it all.....
