Conwy Council Reject Application To Demolish Art Deco House Believed To Have Been Designed by Colwyn Foulkes

Although this is 20th century design it is a travesty if it's knocked down. Once it's gone, it's gone, it may not be of victorian splendour but has the same significance!

Please save this building.

We are knocking down too much of our seaside's history

This house should be an asset, not a loss. It's irreplaceable.

The demolition of 20th century buildings will likely be seen as vandalism by later generations… actions of people in the pocket of developers.

We should be proud of the locally born highly innovative and prolific architect and the work he left behind. It should be treasured. The plans to demolish it is disgraceful.

We need to preserve our heritage not knock it down. Too many developments of this kind going ahead.

20th century heritage is still sorely neglected, and with decisions like this there will be little for future generations to cherish.

Must be saved

Art deco are treasures to be preserved. Why replace such beauty with ugliness.. come on Cyngor Conwy - peidiwch a bod mor pathetig!

Art deco and the British seaside go hand in hand. It is part of our built heritage and could continue to provide two apartments, instead of this plan by these developers who have put their profits above everyone else's interests. There are plenty of more suitable candidates for demolition in Conwy County Borough where they could make their money.

Once gone can never come back - why destroy unique heritage that could be put to other use and be a local attraction?

Conway council have proved their poor taste by wanting to destroy this lovely building yet they created the eyesore council building in colwyn bay.
