Conwy Council Reject Application To Demolish Art Deco House Believed To Have Been Designed by Colwyn Foulkes

This is an absolute disgrace, that the council should even consider such an application. This house by the by the much lauded Foulkes, is of national significance. Im glad to see Save Britain's Heritage, and the 20th C. Society amongst others have objected to this application in the strongest terms. Absolute shame on your CC if you permit this wanton destruction in favour of MONEY grabbing philistines.

There are too few good examples of deco architecture left and they are seriously undervalued.

Our heritage buildings need to be saved wherever they are in the UK and this building is no exception. We should deter developers who only see a footprint to throw up cheaply made buildings that are predominantly sold/bought as second/holiday homes at costs far exceeding what local people can afford. This holiday home market has decimated local communities because young people and families find it so difficult to get on the local housing market and are forced to move. The threat hanging over this and many other important heritage buildings is unacceptable and this house should be saved and fully restored without exception

This is a non- designated heritage asset. By allowing the demolishing of this heritage asset the justification would be a high bar.

These buildings are a really important part of our our heritage. They need to be saved for future generations to enjoy not demolished to build a non-descript new build. There is also a need to give them proper protection as a listed building.

What a beautiful building - re purpose not remove. It has both historical and aesthetic value.
