Far too important to be demolished. It should be listed.

I can only concur with the comments off Griff Rhys Jones O.B.E that yes "there is casual approach to important Welsh heritage" and yes it like so many properties is important architecture and part of the story of Rhos-on-Sea.” There is sadly amongst a certain type of person a shortsighted urge to rip out old and replace with new, a belief that new will be always better and of course this ideal is very likely to be encouraged should a developer be involved; more likely new is not better it's just bland often and with a very poor "shelf-life". Were it not for hard working groups such as this with there eye on community, it's history and it's art bulldozers would have obliterated much of what a community visually holds dear and needs as a spiritual anchor. One only needs to look at the work of Sir John Bentjeman and countless others that have worked very hard to save what we now consider other national gems. Tread carefully as today's new build could so quickly and easily become tomorrow's eyesore.

A beautiful building, which could be made even more wonderful with a sympathetic restoration. In an age of climate crisis why are we demolishing useable (and beautiful) buildings to use even more energy rebuilding

This is a beautiful, iconic building, part of Colwyn Bay's history.

It would be very sad to see another architectural gem from Wales' hayday as a seaside destination being replaced by boring, bland and uncreative design. Please don't put profit before caring about our heritage.

This is a rare surviving example of an important modernist style of architecture, conserve and preserve it don't trash it for the sake of car parking!

Sensitive renovation should surely be possible.

It is such a great example of his work it should be tastefully restored. The uniqueness of these buildings brings tourists in to see them boosting the economy of the town . Also I am proud of the council’s attitude to climate change and renovation.

Losing this building would be a tragedy

Disgraceful. Should be preserved for so many reasons.

Please save this magical house.

Once it is gone it can never return. Will the replacement be something someone will fight to save in 100 years?

I urge the planning committee to reconsider their decision to approve demolition of this characterful and historic building. With sympathetic restoration it has far more potential to contribute to the local landscape that any new-build property and will significantly reduce carbon emissions by avoiding the unnecessary demolition of an entirely viable structure.

This is such an iconic building. It should be saved.

This is a rare heritage building..it must be restored , not destroyed!

As an extended family now aged between mid 60s to thirteen years we have always loved the look of this house. My husband is a keen collector of Art Deco ornaments and pictures. Being able to see this exceptional house is amazing. If only it could be repaired. So many old houses from Victorian and Edwardian times are preserved. But 1930s Art Deco are such a rarity. This house is iconic, how irresponsible and sad it will be if it is lost.

A vote for a structure that could be recovered if the council had a little imagination.

Money over culture yet again, shame on you all.
