Conwy Council Please Do Not Close Or Move Colwyn Bay Library

Do not close or move the library. Pay for the essential repairs so that this iconic old buiding is not lost.

I've been using this library for over 40 years, at least 5 generations, including my own children, have enjoyed its pleasures and benefited from the hard work of it's dedicated staff. While most people would agree we have to prioritise spending and make sure core services are protected, particularly in social care, there must come a time when a line is drawn in the sand and a united community says 'no', it's gone too far. Colwyn Bay library is more than a library and its benefits are felt far and wide across and within our community, providing individual and collective wellbeing in both obvious service delivery manner, and in many nuanced ways.

My Daughter and Grandaughter use this libary a lot and their Community really value this much loved and used library. Please save it. Thank you.

Please keep open its not only a library it's a comforting quiet social setting.

It has given so many people so much pleasure, since I was a child, and I'm over90' so please leave it as it is

We have to keep this as a building open to the people - locals and tourists. A real asset to the Bay, surely.

Nothing else will suit that gorgeous historic building. It's a good community hub, Colwyn Bay has virtually nothing left and is becoming desolate and run down as it is. That is a dreadful decision for our town. PLEASE SAVE COLWYN BAY, never mind the library!!

This library is such a vital asset to Colwyn bay and the surrounding areas. Stop closing things down and start budgeting better, instead of wasting our hard earned money on a empty Building unit (mochdre for example ) The wasted money paid on this could have renovated the library and many other community projects. We deserve better.

We need all the community spaces we've got and there're too few!

Save the Library

As a Trustee of Friends of Carnegie Library Crosby I support your campaign to safeguard Carnegie's legacy in Colwyn Bay. Carnegie's original commitment to the community should be recognised. Such buildings are capable of adaptation for a range of community facilities, including a meeting place for the elderly, lonely and vulnerable members of our society.

Books and reading are the foundations for all learning. Covid 19 has shown us the huge gaps between the haves and the have nots: libraries can help to bridge that gap.

This is unlikely to succeed, we can only hope this lovely historic building is retained and not demolished for some monstrosity.

I and many others use this facility extensively for adult learning corses as well as borrowing books.Please do not close it

Libraries are the lifeblood of communities, they must remain open! And using an historic building is part of the education they encapsulate.

For many years I taught an Art History course there - a much used and loved facility, in a delightful period building. Not only would it be sad to lose this library, it is sad to lose any library - we should be opening new libraries in addition to the present ones. One cannot put a price on cultural richness - and some of that undeniably comes from our many and varied libraries.
