Absolutely disgraceful cultural vandalism. We must fight this dismantling of free public access to the printed word wherever and whenever it happens.

This is a travesty - destruction of a much needed service and venue. Abuse of heritage and the Carnegie bequest. Are the developers lying in wait to turn a profit from this exquisite building redeveloping to flats or a wine bar or worse demolition. It must become a community hub!

Libraries are a sign of a civilised society. Books give knowledge & knowledge is power. Power to change our lives for the better. A dedicated library is a precious space worth saving

Too many libraries have been closed. My family (both as a child and a father) took a weekly trip. This progressive closure is robbing our nation of knowledge. Stop it!

Nooooo, we spent a year barcoding 70,000 books, records and other items at Colwyn Bay Library in the 1980s' What a shame

Libraries provide free information, education and pleasure for all, regardless of financial status. It is morally wrong to deprive people of this important facility.

We should embrace a beautiful building such as this. Once it’s swallowed up and gradually reduced to offices it will unlikely ever have the special atmosphere again.

This building was funded by public subscription. It cannot be stolen from the community which funded it and who still use it.

Colwyn Bay Library Building is already a Community Hub and well able to increase that capacity in its lovely, welcoming and calming environment where every one is welcome. A move into the Conwy Council buying on Coed Pella will be detrimental to community engagement as it's build is focused on providing a working environment and not on a warm, welcoming one. A move there is likely to be utterly counter productive.
