We call on Cardiff Council to continue providing at least a monthly collection for garden waste between November 2020 - February 2021.

[A massive thank you to everyone who everyone who signed this petition. It was presented to the Full Cardiff Council meeting on 26th November 2020. We wait for a formal response from the Cabinet to this petition - but the Cabinet Member has confirmed they will empty the green garden waste bins at the one-off Christmas Tree collection in January 2021.]

We pay our council tax every month. If we didn't we'd be taken to court. What as a non car driver am to do with my garden waste. I'll have a number of bonfires through to March. Will my council tax be reduced to the non service provision.

4 months without a Garden Waste Collection, even over the winter moths, is far too long. Not all gardens have room for compost heaps. Not all people are able to make appointments and go to landfill. A lack of collection will result in green waste being dumped.

We pay for this service in our rates. Cancellation of this service will lead to an increase in fly tipping and air pollution due people burning garden waste. Fly tipping is very expensive to deal with which we as rate payers will have to foot the bill.

Nid yw pawb yn medru cludo gwastraff i safleoedd y cyngor. Oherwydd cyflwr corfforol hirdymor alla i ddim ac mae gennyf rieni anabl yn eu hwythdegau sydd yn yr un sefyllfa. Mae angen o leiaf un casgliad y mis fel arfer. Penderfyniad cwbl annerbyniol.

As a Roath Park resident I am clearing leaves from my garden right through to December. The number of protected trees and roadside trees produce a lot of leaves at this time and during heavy rainfall the road gets flooded due to the blocked drains.

I've always thought it was crazy that the council cut the number of collections in the Autumn, just when we need them the most for our fallen leaves, hedge trimming and pruning. This year is going to be unmanageable without any collections until January.

What are we supposed to do with all the oak leaves that are still falling. The long garden is full of leaves as is the drive and I don't drive. Once a month is not going to cause a problem. Covid as a reason?

What about all the fallen leaves and pruning. Nonsense to say that the amount of garden waste decreases in October when the last collection was made the leaves had not even started falling by then.
