Council has a responsibility to collect waste throughout the year. No wonder fly tipping is increasing when the Council abdicate their responsibilities.

The garden waste collection is a necessity during November and December,it is when all the leaves are falling, I back on to Rhydypenau school field, the trees hang over my garden and the leaves have not started to fall, plus a large street tree in front of my house. My drive and front garden are full of leaves, then there is my own garden waste to dispose of. Green bins are needed during the winter.

These changes will prove difficult for disposing of garden waste particularly for people with big gardens.

With the Covid restrictions - one of the few well-being pursuits is gardening at the moment and not everyone can book the restricted visits to the top so to avoid polluting fires or fly tipping I don’t think the CCC should be considering reducing this service particularly given the levels of Council tax that we now pay.

It’s what we pay Council tax for

We need at least monthly collection, leaves have not started to drop when they do they will block drains. Or shall we dispose in general rubbish.

November is the time when trees and shrubs are being pruned plus fallen leaves need clearing. We need at least monthly collections.

As a Roath Park resident I am clearing leaves from my garden right through to December. The number of protected trees and roadside trees produce a lot of leaves at this time and during heavy rainfall the road gets flooded due to the blocked drains.

My trees haven't started dropping leaves yet, they only start in November when the collection has stopped

I pay a ridiculous amount of council tax and I’m not sure where it’s going. We’re forced to stay home and I want to do gardening. Therefore I need garden collections through the winter. Don’t tell me to take it to the tip!!

Autumn is a key time for gardeners with leaves and dead plants etc so keeping green bin collections going is essential

We still mow the grass right up the December! It’s also a great way of picking up the leaves

I believe Cardiff Council should continue garden waste collections during the Winter months for the following reasons: 1. Leaf debris collection will continue after the end of Octobers, especially if poor weather hinders the process. If people do not collect the leaves because there is no waste collection service, the loose leaves will end up clogging drains causing flooded roads. 2. pruning of trees and other plants is traditional during the Autumn and Winter so we need collections to remove the debris. 3, Poor weather during the Winter causes damage and debris in the garden which needs collection. 4. Keen gardeners take advantage of good weather days in the Winter to carry out maintenance projects which often leaves waste needing collection.
