I am a UAB Graduate and now Graduate student. This threat has no foundation for reasoning. Money? We will raise it if you make us. It's not like it doesn't exist. It's all in other places. The one year we are actually doing good and the players have confidence, you threaten to shatter it. The board of trustees know how much football in Alabama matters, not just how much ALABAMA FOOTBALL MATTERS. I know most of these players. This is their only chance to get out of bad homes and put their talent to use. They can actually be somebody here, they can get an education that they otherwise could never afford

I'm a recent graduate from the Collat School of Business IS program. This isn't just about UAB football - this is also about growing a university - and a city in a state that is actively resisting becoming stronger more diverse region, ready to take on the challenges that are coming in future years. This is about restricting institutional growth, instead of helping developing competencies grow. This is wrong for Birmingham, will ultimately hurt the state and is _so_ anti-competitive that I can barely spit.

Discontinuing the football team would affect not only UAB, not only Birmingham, but the entire state and all of college sports. Football, like any other school, attracts would be students seeking football programs. Alabama provides a diverse choice of schools with football programs and discontinuing UABs would affect the entire state as far as income, supporters, and many other things. Discontinuing UAB football could ultimately be detrimental to the state as a whole

As a former UAB Football Player, we have to keep the program going. I have two boys that want to play for the program if they are fortunate enough to be prospects.
Keep UAB Football!!!
