It would be a shame for UAB to lose a program that means so much to so many.

UAB is Birmingham's team. I spent ten years of my life building the new hospitals, and building down there. I'm poud of UAB. While I'm not a fan of football I have bene pulling for the team for the last few years. They are a spark of pride for this city.

This is absurd to take away a program from these kids. This is a school who loves and cares about their athletics. I can only hope you see that through the overwhelming support of the school, the community, and supporters around the country.

As a UAB Football Letterman this tyranny of the UA BOT on UAB athletes can not continue, we have been dealing with this issue for well over a decade! It's time for Change!

build up this program, look how much the new Barons field has achieved,UAB football, would do the same,if properly funded and cared for by the people in charge.

UAB football is worth saving. Don't give up on it. If you end it now, it will kill the sports program, which will in turn kill campus life, which has improved steadily and taken UAB from a commuter school to somewhere worth going. Don't go backwards. Go forwards with UAB football. Give it the resources it needs to survive.

I am an alumnus of the University of Alabama and a long-time athletics employee at Troy University. If the decision is made to drop football at UAB, then all athletics should be dropped at the school. Then they should drop the medical school and one-by-one drop all of the other academic programs because dropping football is tantamount to waving a white flag to all future students. Nothing, and I mean nothing, brings a university together more than football. Here at Stetson, we just completed our second season of football, and the impact of the return after more than 50 years without the sport has been profound. Applications for admission have increased by 400% over the last four years and the quality of the students applying to the school have also increased. In brief, football is the glue that holds most college campuses together and, without it, UAB will be forever doomed to wallow in a pit where the entire university will suffer.

Give UAB the freedom they deserve from the UofA athletic board. Don't deprive students, alumni and supporters the opportunity to be a part of UAB athletics!!!
