Football is a powerful symbol for the political manipulation of UAB by the Board of Trustees and donors like Drummond Company and Alabama Power/Southern Company. Their influence is compromising UAB's academic integrity particularly as it pertains to health research. It's shameful and damaging UAB's reputation nationally and perhaps irreversibly.

There is no reason to shut down UAB football program. If the president of UAB don't fight for that college you need a new one.
