This former football player would be devastated to lose his alma mater's football team.

Marching Blazers 1994 and 2008-2012. I'm very proud to be an inaugural member of the Marching Blazers and it would not have been possible without the UAB Football Program. The UA Board of Trustees has done nothing but hold back this sporting program from coming out of the gates by not allowing decent facilities, deprivation of equal representation on the Board, and outright illegal actions by refusing to table issues such as decent facilities and institution having say in choice of coaches (Jimbo Fisher). Taking away the football program would deprive so much more than just taking away football games. No Football = No Marching Blazers. No Football = No Scholarships for athletes, band members, cheerleaders, etc. Hundreds would be affected. If the team is improving under Coach Clark, and attendance is up, what could possibly be a decent justification for ripping away a football program that is still in its infancy, after all, it is only 23 years old. Birmingham backs this team, the students back this team, the alum back this team...stop trying to take our team away from us!

UAB Football needs investment instead of being dropped. They need a new field to play on that people feel excited to visit.
