in order to keep this institution at a level of excellence in all faucets of college life I believe that our football team should stay intact to our university. With some support and time I believe our football team can rise through the ranks and be an elite team. If football is taken away it is a matter of time before other collegiate programs are also stripped. It also takes away scholarships for deserving young men. I please ask you to reconsider this rash decision.

I am a UAB alumni and I don't even really like football but I was always more than proud to support UAB football since it brings so much pride and unity to the school. Just because we aren't a football powerhouse, it doesn't mean that our school shouldn't offer a full range of competitive sports teams. This team means so much to the school and the community.

Instead of allowing the idea of UAB dropping football - announce now that UAB football is not only is UAB football sticking around - it will be here for a long time to come. DO not allow the powers that be at Bama dictate to UAB, it's students and alumni how it should act. Your students and alums deserve this experience.

I received both of my degrees from UAB. I was also a Golden Girl, and loved my experience at UAB. Current students, alumni and potential athletes deserve a team. UAB having a team doesn't interfere with any of the state's football programs. With a stadium on campus, it could be lucrative for the city. Just look at the Barons. Please keep our football program!!!
