this is a crying shame for a Div 1-A school. The school will lose money for cutting out a program like football.

From a Memphis Tiger that has pulled against UAB MANY MANY times. UAB football is good for Birmingham, the Southeast US and everyone affiliated with their school and conference. Many good things have come from UAB football program.

How many players have used UAB athletics to advance their acedemics and in turn their career/life? Sports bring cities together and teach life lessons. Fewer schools involved means fewer people involved and less good for all. KEEP UAB ATHLETICS afloat. Football. Basketball. Volleyball. Softball. Soccer. And all sports un-named.

UAB football means a lot to their student body, and while it would be worthy of consideration to drop the program if it is in the best interests of UAB, my understanding is the is a Board of Regents decision designed to help give even more resources to UA. I cannot support this sort of move. I wonder if this petition is directed at the right people as this needs to petition those that make this decision and I think this might be coming from higher than the parties named.

UAB is so much more than a hospital and university. It's Birmingham folks. Being one of the largest employers in the State of Alabama, one would think we could save the football team.

Let'a build a small on-campus stadium like Samford's where fans and students are more likely to attend.

I was told that if you move to Alabama that I had to choose a team, and that team is UAB. My money goes to support The Blazers as they support Birmingham, our communities and businesses, where others do NOT. What's next after taking the team, maybe the med school, the clinics, THE JOBS?!..... If UAB football would go independent, I guarantee that they could schedule numerous power 5 teams thus more then making enough money to be self supportive while also bringing much needed popular exposure to our city and it's history, culture, and development.

UAB has grown beyond the need for its oversight by UA. The state, the city, and all students and alumni deserve governance for the university wholly committed to their success.
