It seems that UAB is treated as the lessor of the Tuscaloosa campus. If so, why?

The number of tickets sold is only one factor to consider. The university is the largest employer in the state of Alabama and is the economic engine of the City Birmingham.

Keeping UAB Football is not only good for the university, but more importantly good for the city of Birmingham. Just look at what the Barons and Regions Park have done for our city. Regardless of who you cheer for on Saturdays, keeping the program and building an on campus stadium would help fuel the resurgence of Birmingham.

UAB Football could be a good program if UA will leave them alone and let them hire good coaches rather than the lifetime losers like Watson Brown, Neil Calloway, Garrick McKee.
