The University of Alabama Board of Trustees have oppressed and punished UAB for long enough. It's time for UAB to stop being controlled by belligerent, white old men who find their value in 20 year olds tackling each other. I could not be more proud to be a blazer, and UAB doesn't deserve to be punished for not being Alabama football. It's comforting to know that UA is getting a whole floor in their student center dedicated to being a Starbucks, but we at UAB continually has things taken away from us.

Why eliminate the program? It has sickened me so many years that the University has fallen behind their so called umbrella school, i.e. Alabama. This school has been neglected enough and now to talk about getting rid of the football program is total and utter BS.

I am a UAB graduate and long time Blazer Club. The giant sucking sound heading to Tuscaloosa and/or Auburn is not good for Jefferson County where UAB is located and I have several properties. Also, many UAB students and alumni look in the mirroe and see how you look when you are all red faced yelling "Roll Tide" or "War Eagle"! Step out of stockholm syndrome and accept YOUR identity as a UAB Blazer for your benefit and that of UAB and the local community.

It's shameful the manner in which the UA Board of Trustees have sabotaged UAB Football at every turn. Narrow minded and short sighted. Take your boots off of UAB's throat.

Do the trustees think that picking on UAB somehow makes UAT better? Bullying in any form is an act of weakness.

I graduated from UAB in 1988 - the first class to hold commencement in the new Bartow Arena. I am proud to be a Blazer and to display my degree and "The Iron Curtain" artwork in my office. I am the COO of APCO Employees Credit Union and this position affords me the opportunity to interact with many of Birmingham's business leaders. I have never heard the level of positive, upbeat suport for our football program as I hear today. This is probably why we now hear the negative rumblings out of Tuscaloosa. I realize that UAB Football is a business investment for the UA System and I will concede that the investment has not demonstrated an adequate return. But is this UAB's fault or the University of Alabama Board of Directors? Any investment is doomed to fail if it is completely ignored. Most investments, especially in infra-structure must be maintained.
do not drop program
please do not drop UAB football.
