As a parent of two UAB grads, one of which participated in the Blazer softball program, I am so puzzled at how such a destructive decision can come from a true Blazer.

My son was a redshirt freshman and he didn't get a scholarship and now he will be left out in the cold. No money for school and football to play. He is left with nothing. I can't afford to pay for is education. What do we do now?

They have worked all of their lives to get to this point and to play college football. You have no right to take that hardwork away from them and to take it away from the school and fans. You should be fired of your positions. It is a disgrace you'd even plot something like this. They did nothing to deserve this.

This is TERRIBLE!! This means to much, to too many people!! Think of the team, school, players, band, event staff, concession workers, that depend on this venue as part of their livelyhood !!! Only to be SNATCHED away because of the enitirely SELFISH acts of UA BOT!! They never had my respect and def made a bad move if they were trying to gain it! I understand business, but this is pure politics because you want to be top dog !! There are way more people that would like this program to succeed than fail! But the handful of misfits are winning currently in this injustice!! I'm infuriated and this must come to an end!! #goblazers #freeuab #BOTstepdown #wattscangotoo

I'm a UCF fan, but I was disappointed to hear about this decision by the UA Board of Trustees. I hope you guys will break away from them at some point. Best of luck to you folks. I think UAB football will return eventually.

UAB is a pillar in the Birmingham community and the state of Alabama overall! Young people from all communities dream of attending UAB in some capacity. Bring BACK Football, RifleTeams, and Bowling! The money is there! WE SEE THAT THE MONEY IS THERE (University Blvd.).
