I really want UAB gain their football program back because I my cousin was a sophomore on the football team and because my sister was a part of the color guard. Football is my cousin's life and all of the football players love their sport. Give UAB a chance. Put yourself in their position. How would you feel? If money is an issue, the football team can host many fundraisers. There are other solutions to this problem. I am truly going to miss going to the footballs games to cheer on my sister and cousin.

Elinating this program will not help your school, it will hurt it in the long run. Save this program for this proud community. I live in Virginia and I'm a proud Hokie, we support UAB Football, their fans, students, Coaches and support staff.

Dr. Watts mentioned his 42 year history with UAB. I transferred to UAB from MSU in1971. Since then I have received two degrees from UAB and had two daughters graduate from UAB. I am also a retired employee of University hospital with 25 years there. Lots of people have long histories at UAB. I have watched it grow from just a small college to a prestigious institution. It breaks my heart to see the efforts of thousands for decades brought down so quickly.

I am very disappointed that the football program is going to be shut down. The football program was used as a selling point during all of the meetings that my wife and I attended during the time we were deciding where to send our son and our tuition dollars. Shutting down the football is going to make it unbelievably difficult to attract new students to your university. Nobody likes to attend Homecoming during basketball season.

I want to help save this program. As a resident in Birmingham, I feel the impact this is having. I can't even imagine how the students feel. I was planning on going back to UAB to finish my schooling for my dream career so UAB has always been a favorite.
