We urge UAB President Dr. Watts to take the following actions: 1. Immediately announce that UAB Football will NOT be dropped. 2. Immediately begin to negotiate a contract extension for Coach Bill Clark. 3. Immediately allow AD Brian Mackin and Coach Bill Clark to schedule football games beyond 2016. 4. Immediately accept help from donors, the City of Birmingham, and other entities to develop capital improvements for UAB Football.

Sam Hunt played football as a starting QB in 2005. He is now an up and coming hot country musician, because of his 4 years hear at UAB and playing football for the school, he has made me that much prouder to attend school here. Taking away a football program will not only deny talent in every area, but it will deny the potential for athletes who go on to be big names claim UAB as a school the graduated from and enjoyed. We as a school will see less people graduate, less people find their potential, less friendships, less opportunities, & less success. It will how ever increase poverty because kids can't come to school here and play a sport they love while getting an education, more issues in the street now that these kids with an amazing talent can't play ball at a school they love, more racial separation, missed opportunities, missed chances to change the world, missed chances to change the life and outcome of a student because they aren't involved in a sport like football, missed chances to inspire. Taking away a football team and progr will not solve a thing. It will quickly make things much worse. Some of these players CHOSE to walk on, with no scholarship at all and play because they like the sport, they want to be involved and they want to accomplish something. Take that away and what do you have? Nothing. You have nothing. You have now denied a person who could potentially cure cancer, who could shine an awesome light on UAB (I.e. Sam Hunt) you have now taken away someone's joy, they're talent, and UAB as an option.

There's plenty of grandstanding! UAB deserves the support, there's plenty of football players for all schools. Maybe just maybe the younger adults know more than the over the hill politicians

Give these folks a stadium and a chance. I'm a two-degree UAT grad and I resent the long-standing arrogance of my alma mater toward other state schools.

Alabama deserves more than just one football team in the state. It's going to be sad if Alabama only has the University of Alabama as the only major collge football team in the state. Not even Mississippi has only one major college football team. University of Houston fan here in support of UAB.

With a change of venue and Thursday night games, this program could be a huge success.

UAB football is huge part of the campus. UAB football team is considered the football team of Birmingham. It shouldn't be taken away as it is on an upward trajectory.

UAB is the epicenter of higher education in Alabama. The easiest way to destroy that would be removing the one thing that brings thousands of the university's students, alumni, and employees together in one place. Save the UAB Football program and save the university experience for generations to come!
