I would not be where I am today or who I am today without UAB! Part of that great experience is UAB football!

Horrible that politics is threatening to shut this program down now when it can finally get some national recognition by being bowl eligible!! Not to mention the jobs that will be lost by people who work within the department, and scholarships that will be lost. And what will become of woman's programs that were added to offset the male scholarships?? Will they be folded as well, costing MORE jobs?? Sickening!!

UAB gave me a second chance to finish school and play on an athletic scholarship. If it wasn't for UAB I probably wouldn't have finished school. I bleed green and gold! #busttheboard #freeUAB #goBlazers

Go Blazers! This is so unfair to those who have scholarships ... who extend far beyond the football players. If do no other reason, keep it for them!

As an aluni of this institution I feel strongly that it connects the students to the school in a much more traditional way . Without a football program it will be harder for the students to take pride in a school that doesn't offer a football program.

I'm on the verge of shedding tears after I read about the final axe of the program being all but finalized officially. I'm sick to my stomach that it was even talked about to begin with but now that it's most likely happening it's just very hurtful and saddens me to my core. I graduated from UAB this April and I bleed Green and Gold. UAB opened doors and my world to so many opportunities that I could never have imagined. First, it's the football program, next, who knows?
Go Blazers!
