This is a major blow to the local ecomomy of the Metro Birmingham area. The ripple effect could cost the local economy 10's of millions of dollars. Please reconsider. More impotantly it effects the lives of people.

i may not be a student at UAB, but you cannot shut down a football program saying, "the school cant keep funding the sport" Thats what i call complete and udder crap, football is one of the most profitable sports in college and professinally.And beyond that you are endin the chance for kids to have an education beyond high school where football was their only way in, so what you havent been winning? your going to shut it down when you have a bowl game, which is revenue. And the people that shouldve been talked to first were not even noticed until after. This is ridiculous an outrageous, Dr. Watts need s to get his head on straight and put UAB back in college football, not rip it out.
