Mineral nutrients are in the soil. If the soil is too contaminated for certified organic food, the water would be too toxic as well. Mineral chelators in all herbicides block the minerals in the soil from being taken up by plants. Likewise, the piping used by hydrophonics in PVC, vinyl chloride monomer leaches from the pipes into the water and into the food. This highly toxic source of food in organic would NOT benefit the health and well being of the people or the animals that eat the food. It would only benefit the bottom line of the corporation.
