These are our devices we are buying! We should have full control over them!

Because Apple's current software products are disgraceful. They are half-baked at best and seems like amateurish in reality.

If an update doesn't work, it should be downgradeable. I bought an iphone 3 in 2009, almost a year later a new IOS came out which made the phone ungodly slow. When I got a text message, it took me anywhere from 3-5 minutes to get to the text message app to read and try to respond. I don't even know how many times I hung up on calls while using the keyboard. Calling ATT and Apple both resulted the same answer. "Update your phone." Heck I did, and it's slow. "No no, update to a newer phone (iphone 4)." "You mean upgrade. I still have a year left on my contract, I'm not going to pay hundreds of dollars to "Fix" something Apple broke!" Couldn't get anywhere with them. Went to android, which was cheaper and easier for an advanced tech user to manipulate to fit their unique needs.

Although many may stay up to date, some people may not be around for a certain update, that certain things they wanted in that update Is then changed in the one after. when they then come back, they cannot get the update they wanted.

This is something that the owner of one's phone should have control over no matter the reason.
