We believe any device with consumer updatable software should allow downgrade back to any earlier version that was compatible to that device. For iPhones this should apply to both iOS version and baseband version.

I think it is high time that Apple allows an official, sanctioned way for people to not only downgrade to any firmware they want, but to jailbreak the devices that the consumer paid for if that consumer wishes to accept the risks and liability of running unsigned code.
