We believe any device with consumer updatable software should allow downgrade back to any earlier version that was compatible to that device. For iPhones this should apply to both iOS version and baseband version.

I was looking at the counter and realized we are creeping up on a thousand names which is wild because I honestly thought this would just be me yelling into the void about old software versions. If you could just grab the link and toss it in a group chat or post it somewhere public right now we might actually hit the milestone before I have to go deal with my own laggy phone again.

I was just looking at the counter and we are hovering right at the edge of triple digits which feels like a big step forward although it totally feels wild that we even need to demand this control over our own hardware in the first place. Please ping anyone you know who gets frustrated when their phone slows down after an update because getting us past this threshold today would give me a lot more confidence when I start emailing the tech press about this.

Should be a freedom of personal choice, JB or no JB it's whoevers preference to be on whatever iOS they choose, my brother had an i5 iOS 6 , he got a new i6 doesn't know what to do with it hates the OS the i6 is in a drawer & the old i5 is back in use, =our devices leave us to choose our iOS! Simples
This is what I have always wanted. Downgrading should be a right! I upgraded my older iPad to iOS 9 and getting lag occasionally in all games I play. And I can't downgrade so I had to buy a new one.
Consumers don't need backwards compatible support. But it is our right to modify our devices as we see fit. If we forfeit all rights to service and support, so be it - but we are entitled to the choice.
For older iDevices, the ability to downgrade could make all the difference, as newer OSs take up way more processor/memory than older iterations. Of course, that's the point, to force you to upgrade.
We've purchased the hardware, we should be able to modify/downgrade the software to previous builds for personal use as we see fit. The library of congress recognizes this with jailbreaking, it should apply to downgrading too!

I'm sick and tired of iOS 9.2. I had to bring in my iPhone 6 Plus in for service. They updated it to 9.2 even when I told them I didn't want to, but if I didn't, they wouldn't help me. When my iPhone 6 Plus was on 8.4. It was the best. Now it's slow and sucks.
