Little league sports has always been by age. This decision does not make sense. Common sense tells us that the child's age is what makes these children eligible to play with each other. Seems like there might be some other reason that a decision like this was made.

I feel as though Connor should be allowed to play with his peers due to the fact that playing with high schoolers could be extremely dangerous to him in many circumstances, physically along with mentally. I feel as though playing with High schoolers is not age appropriate for someone Connors Age.
I feel as though the bi-laws need to be changed due to the fact that if they allow children who have been held back can still play with there peers, so should academically gifted children, intelligence has nothing to do with size or the ability to play softball with his own age.
Please reconsider Connors age and ability so that he can play with his friends and peers and so that he can enjoy the experience of softball.

As a coach of a highly competitive sport, I fully support this. Not only would this child be subject to social and emotional maturity he’s not ready for, he’s physically at a different point in his life. There’s some safety concerns I would have as a parent. If this was football would the league be willing to put a 12/13 year old out on the field to line up against a 15/16 year old? Sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Seriously? Why? You are punishing him for being smart? I expected this to be about gender identity; not about academics! Unbelievable that a parent should have to fight to have a child play ball with his age level. Makes no sense, but look at the world we live in. This board needs some serious admonishment!

If it’s a bylaw then the bylaws need to be updated- absolutely awful! This is how children get left behind and become adults with childhood trauma that takes years of hard work to turn around and recover from!
