Mrs. Lawrence will always hold a special place in my heart. My mother passed away the summer before I started Middle School she pulled me aside one day and told she is always available to talk to if I ever needed someone. She was more than my teacher she was my friend. To this day I sill use her famous trick to help people get rid of hic ups. :-)

My dad was a custodian at Apalachin Elementary. He knew all the teachers, and I remember Mrs. Lawrence fondly because he spoke of her so highly. Not everyone recognized the contribution the support staff make to every school, but Mrs. Lawrence treated my dad with the same respect as the superintendent. That says a lot about the kind of person she was. The kids who grew up being taught in her classroom learned from her example, and I can't think of a better thing for kids to learn than simply treating one another with respect and dignity. It seems fitting to honor her legacy this way.

Mrs Lawrence was a teacher at the junior high when I was there I never had her for class but went to her to talk to when I needed help. One Christmas she took my sister and I to jamesway and gave us each 50 dollars to buy Christmas gifts and then took us for dinner and to her house. That was one of the best holidays I had and she was aalways a great mentor to me. I hope they name the school for her it would be a great honor that her legacy deserves

Mrs Lawrence always taught such great stories of the Owego folklore and history such as The Indian Miaden Sa-Sa-Na Loft. I will never forget the contributions she made and compassion she had for teaching.
