It's disgusting that people are put at risk by a failing service, who through the inaction of the overpaid powers in authority, who can sort out the mess who are neglecting their responsibility, are responsible for prolonged pain and suffering and loss of life as a consequence of their inability.

This is a disgrace that at any given moment someone could lose their life or be left in agonising pain. Left waiting for an ambulance. Why should people live in fear like this, simple because of where they are from.

Is it too much to ask that we have emergency services on par with the rest of Ireland? Response times seem to be remarkably different in other areas and lives here in Connemara are at stake. Does anyone care?

Good ambulance service is a basic need that should be available to all areas, especially for villages a far distance from the hospital. Emergency medical personnel need to be highly trained & have the equipment to be able to handle any medical emergency while transporting patients to the hospital. Med Flight is widely used in my region to transport critical patients to Boston who need more advanced care than the small local hospital can provide.

The government need to sort this out immediately! The local people, my family and friends, need a reliable ambulance service. I’m Galway born and spend a few months a year in Connemara with young children and it’s often in the back of my mind what if we needed urgent medical attention and an ambulance. Would it come in time or already be helping someone else miles away in another part of Connemara or Galway? Beautiful Connemara and the Wild Atlantic Way draws many tourists throughout the year and especially in the summer months therefore basic needs like enough ambulances are a necessity not a luxury for the locals and visitors to the area!

I know the N 59 I was born and brought up there. I still have friends and family living there. The Irish government does not recognize Connemara.
