Well known for years in Galway better to call a taxi than an ambulance. Companies even recommend it in the case of first aid. Was shocked the first time I heard that.

This child could have died as a result of an emergency response ambulance not being available. It’s not acceptable. Everyone has a right to have appropriate medical treatment in an life or death emergency.

Connemara is a large area with dodgy roads so every ambulance service is vital. The more the better.

We need an ambulance here ready to be deployed at all times. When it's out on a call another ambulance should be making its way to man the station until the carriage designated one is back bit to be honest we need 2 ambulances on standby at all times here

Connemara desperately needs an adequate ambulance service to look after the sick young and old in their time of need.

It's ridiculous that the service isn't more efficient no ambulance to be got without having to wait over an hour to come from castlebar or galway when there is always at least 2 always sitting outside clifden hospital.

This is a national disgrace. No one should have to wait for an ambulance no matter where they live.

An ambulance service is a necessity in Connemara and Oughterard requires one too, my own mother was waiting 1hr10 minutes for an ambulance from Oughterard, which is 20(!!!) minutes from UCHG

A properly run ambulance service is urgently needed for all over Connemara.

It is crazy, the whole set up is a pure farce. they need a proper emergency room in Cliftden co Galway to service the whole Connemara area . A massive garda station where they train Garda how to check for road tax NCT and insurance , but they have to send out a driver out from Galway city to get a dying person to drive someone fifty miles to an emergency room if it is out of hours ???
