Comedian George Lopez Must Apologize to the Food Allergic Community

Mr. Lopez, I can only hope that you are so uninformed that you don't know that a peanut allergy, or any food allergy, is not a simple discomfort like sneezing or itching, but a life-threatening condition. It's also not something psychosomatic, but an actual pathological biological reaction requiring medical intervention to a degree not available on an airplane. Unless you are ignorant of these facts, your "jokes" are just evil. In fact, either way, your open hostility toward people with a medical condition is very distasteful and not funny.

My son can die due to his peanut allergy. It might be a joke to you because it's not relevant in your life but it's not to my family!!

He should not only apologize he should make a hefty donation to an allergy site.

My husband and two of our children are allergic to peanuts. One of sons is also allergic to all the other legumes...and tree nuts. Mr. Lopez could use a big dose of compassion and some training in how food allergies affect people. He should talk to a kid with food allergies and hear how they are impacted everyday. I do not want to punish Mr. Lopez. I want to educate him.

Apparently Mr Lopez has never experienced the devastation a food allergy can have on a family. Shame on you. I guess you only want compassion when it pertains to your causes.

Compassion!!! That is what this world is lacking. I am an educator and a mom of a peanut allergy kid. He has the same rights you do for living on this Earth. He has the same rights you do to not have to fear for his life. That mentality in your comedy sketch instills thoughts in to others that it is ok to be cruel and uncaring to other's needs. There is enough of that without fueling that fire! My son has only flown on a plane once in his life, and he wore a respirator while doing so. It was for, a once in a lifetime time trip, to surprise his 93 year old great-grandmother for Christmas (which may have been the last time he could ever see her). How dare you suggest he didn't have the right to be on that plane. We are not asking others to change their lives, we are just asking for others to give our allergy kids a chance to live! You can live without your peanut product for a brief moment, but my kid can't live with it. It is a death sentence if he breathes or injests peanut residue. Most decent human beings would not make jokes about a wounded vet or a child with down syndrome. So, please stop making jokes about people who have an auto immune disease they have no control over -serious, life threatening food allergies. Show a little compassion please!

My son passed away from anaphylaxis 3yrs ago at the young age of 16. Peanut allergies are not a joke. Oh.. and by the way. ..WE are Hispanic.

Why would you wish death upon my child because you need to wait to eat you peanuts? I would never be so inconsiderate to your children. HAVE SOME RESPECT FOR OTHERS THAN YOURSELF!

I appreciate a good laugh, but not at the expense of someone with a disability. I'm signing for my son who is three and has already experienced anaphylaxis from life-threatening food allergies. I pray people begin to understand this is no laughing matter so he can live without fear of being bullied.

I have life threatening food allergies- and I am seriously offended that someone would make fun of those of us who have them.

Way to promote bullying and putting kids lives in danger.
