It’s absolutely disgusting how the residents in Tillicoultry have been treated from day one by the council

Council should be held accountable not home owners

The local authority must put pressure on the government to give the same support to home owners as council tenants. It should not be up for debate .

Watching my best friend going through the last 20yr battle of Deans South and the devastation it caused. The government and council need to support the home owners!

I’m from Hirwaun in south Wales. Our estate is also been affected by RAAC. The situation is parallel. The national Goverment needs to step up.

If the council knew about RAAC in these houses before these people bought their houses then the Council should foot the bills. Is this yet another GRENFELL..? Councils should be monitored and blamed if found guilty. Lawyers unavailable s hould be ashamed of themselves

Strongly agree with this as well. Aberdeen City Council continued to sell these properties to unsuspecting owners after being informed of the potential risks of RAAC in 1996. However it should be the government that should be held accountable as they failed in their duty of care by not putting in place a complete ban on the sale of properties with potential RAAC in them. After what happened at Greenfell with the cladding the government miraculously found the funds to help with similar cladding on other buildings. Does Rishi Sunak, Humza Yuzef and Aberdeen City Council really want to wait until a roof collapses with fatal consequences before they remove their heads from their backsides and get this problem sorted once and for all
