I have valid interest in my family’s flat in pentland crescent balnagask area Tory Aberdeen, slippery shoulders act by Aberdeen council and government is totally shocking, quick enough taking payment for these properties from unsuspecting public, and for survey companies giving the okay for mortgage purposes stating these properties were suitable for sale to private owners.surely they should be held responsible for all this ,or is it another Post Office case where the government perform the ostrich act and stick there heads in the sand.

So council want to shirk away from their responsibilities. ACC agreed the construction and materials to be used. ACC sold these properties knowing farewell they had RAAC roof on them Effectively putting unsuspecting buyers at risk which could have lethal consequences.

It is incredulous that ACC were always aware of this method of construction. ACC will hold records of the original design, approvals and contracts for construction. In short, ACC are responsible in every way. ACC is responsible for all occupants of all properties to be rehoused in suitable accommodation given that ACC have benefited from 60 years plus rental income and sale income.

If homeowners had been told that substandard RAAC had been used to erect their property, no-one would have gone ahead and made a purchase!! Homeowners were totally mislead and are now suffering sleepless nights of worry - through NO fault of their own!! Council knowingly built the property with this material, therefore they must be held responsible. Shocking that homeowners are being left to fund for checks, repairs etc.

This is a terrible situation for all those affected by RAAC in their homes. It is disgraceful if those Torry residents who have bought their ex-council homes have no financial redress, particularly (but not exclusively) if they bought their houses after 1996 when the council should have been aware of the risks/life span of the material. Many in the area who have homes built in the time period when RAAC was used (1960s-90s) will be wondering if their property is affected. The council needs to contact ALL Torry residents to offer reassurance, guidance and support. Hannah Chowdhry has done a magnificent job of highlighting the issue of RAAC in Torry homes . Please support this petition by signing and sharing.
