Final supporters
KCS is strong academically because of our outstanding teaching teams in each grade. This teaming structure allows us to maintain excellent student-teacher ratios that are on par with the other schools in the district. If we start to eliminate teachers in any of the grades, this will immediately change the ratio and negatively impact the education of our KCS students.
For years, KCS has been considered much like a private school. Its network of close-knit parents and teachers has fostered a nurturing environment and supported a strong education program. With the proposed teacher reduction in the finance budget, students will struggle to have the attention that is so important at this formative elementary school level.
Please stand with our KCS teachers, students and parents by showing your support for this important petition drive!

I never thought this would gain so much speed but looking at the notifications piling up is honestly surreal. It really hit me that so many people care about keeping our teaching teams together as much as I do. Now that so many of you are behind this we actually have a shot at getting someone to listen about the budget cuts.

Our 3 children have all attended and continue to attend KCS. The education of the students of KCS children is much more important than the bricks and mortar. Losing excellent teachers and small class sizes will negatively impact the children of our community. Why risk the education of children?
Please keep the teachers at KCS. These kids need to have a strong foundation to start with in order to succeed. If we have larger student to teacher ratios kids will start falling through the cracks academically. Smaller class ratios makes it easier for kids to be able to focus and work in a more nurturing environment.
Please preserve the importance of the KCS community. We have two daughters at KCS and the best thing about the school is the smaller class size which allows teachers to get to know their students.
Overwhelming research supports small class sizes and qualified educators as the cornerstones of students’ success. If budget cuts need to be made, all other options should be explored.
Not only are the ratios important, but the constant shifting of teachers between grades and schools is not benefiting anyone. Teachers need time in one class room and in one grade where they can learn the ins and outs of the curriculum to better their instruction and where they can create a learning environment that is most beneficial to the students. If they are constantly being shifted around, they have to acclimate to a new class room and new material each year which hurts our kids.
Keep the teachers!!!!
Very disturbing to me how once again we are facing something being taken away from our children that is so crucial to the strength of our school and the success of our children in these early years of their education. This goes against all best practice and recommendations.

If we could go back in time, say 4 years ago, and were asked to choose between certain schools renovations or classroom size a compromise might have been fair. However renovation vs. class size is a different story and teacher cuts are short sighted and no way to compensate for the increased budget rather a cop out. This is very upsetting.
