It's supposed to have our own bilingual school in south, as the chinese communities are growing. Also, it makes no sense to cross the whole city to attend the school in north.

CBE needs to provide a South Mandarin bilingual program in area V. Otherwise, it is unfair for the residence living in area V to not have the same opportunities as residence living in the North.

I strongly suggest that CBE approves Mandarin programs for grade 5 and 6 students in Midnapore School. It is unfair to send our children to a far school that will take us more time and more money.

It is unacceptable that we will need to move to North to continue the bilingual education in Chinese. Please seriously consider the people living in South.

I am disappointed that the CBE has, what seems to me, dropped the ball regarding a southern location for the next level of the Mandarin program. In the last 5 years of my children being in this program we have received ONE letter addressing "a Southern location to be determined". Not a very informative. I.Foggo

My son is currently in Grade 2 at Midnapore School. We are really glad the program is available for Chinese immigrant families and really appreciate all th effort CBE put to get it successfully. We wee always informed the program will be expand to Grade 6until recently. That will definitely affect our choice of school when when it comes later. We sincerely request CBE to continue have the program in Midnapore school. It will benefit not just the Chinese community I the area, but also to create great cultural and diversity benefits for families living down the south. Thank you very much for theconsideration.

Compare with our neighbour city, Edmonton public school board has 4 junior high schools which provide Chinese bilingual program. With much more Chinese population and more challengeable city commute, only putting one school to provide Mandarin Program is not considerate。 CBE 's current decision might drives current students in Midnapore bilingual withdraw the program and move to other schools. We would like to see real meanful communication with CBE.

It is not realistic to ask kids travel hours to reach school and get home, as a result, it will push many kids quit from the program and finally the efforts which many people contributed to create this program at south will be wasted. and the bilingual Jr. High program at south Calgary will game over. It is too easy to destroy the bilingual program at south Calgary, but it is too difficult to rebuild it. I really think Cbe should review the decision and keep the bilingual program at the south Calgary 。thanks.

Parents should be involved, consulted and informed before any decisions made since this is a matter affects the future of lots of kids. Please keep the communication channels open.

Please keep grade 5/6 Mandarin Bilingual in Midnapore school and have a Junior High Mandarin program in the south. If the program moves to the north, a lot of kids may have to quit mandarin program halfway due to travel distance and many other circumstances. Please reconsider the decision. Will the numbers of classroom in the NW school be increase to accommodate students from the south, if so wouldn't CBE still facing the staffing constraints? However, if there is no plan to increase the numbers of the classroom, isn't that mean that CBE is shrinking the program?
