Works have been stopped and will be removed, success!

In fairness to our club Captain, his response was swift and correct.

Less than 24 hours after opening this petition it is closed, many members have spoken and clearly were not happy with this proposal. It certainly was not apparent that it was a proposal "to put three small clumps of Whin Bushes"..

Looks like better communication and process for course changes are being suggested going forward which is great and the only way. Content and comments left by members will remain here for the council to view.

Thanks to all who supported

Have you see the work underway on the 13th hole? Is this something you want or asked for? If not how about we make it known, and send a clear message back that this work should cease. Maybe you have not seen the work underway already, if not see the picture of it here. Doesn't do the amount of area justice.. but it is no small obstacle our council has proposed and have work underway for its construction. This work was proposed by our greens committee to our council where the work was passed to go ahead after a vote of the members in attendance at Mondays council meeting just gone. To introduce 3 large areas on the right hand side of the 13th hole. In the existing area of rough to be built up and covered with planted whin bushes. This at a hole where we already have out of bounds to the right side for the range running parallel and more whins and trees left side. This is our 6th hardest hole of the 18 holes per our statistics and our council wish to introduce more obstacles to further toughen it up, to what purpose? Some ones idea to prevent the longer hitters being able to take on a risky shot down right-hand-side flirting with OB?

Will this cause a negative impact on the current pace of play, we think so, greatly! Will this increase your enjoyment of playing the hole? Will this make the hole harder and as a result the overall scores higher, of course. Wouldn't efforts be better employed elsewhere on the course, many think so and have brought this to the council that just met last night but work is underway here, council have again voted to move ahead, after hearing from a small number who brought it to their attention. Clearly they need to hear it from a wider group, they are their on our behalf lets provide them with that wider voice and reverse this poor decision going any further.

Thank you

BTW - its free, you don't have to donate. I didn't when I created this petition.
