Complete the missing link in the Tarka Trail between Meeth Quarry nature reserve and the Market town of Hatherleigh

Please complete this missing link, it would make the whole ride from North Devon to Plymouth so much more safe and enjoyable.

I support this petition- having just cycled from Braunton to Meeth with my son, I would have loved to have gone on to Hatherleigh but was stopped by the hostile A386.

No brainer to complete this link. I would get my bike out of the shed to get my Saturday paper!

This completion would make the Tarka trail much more enjoyable and safe.

I would love to cycle to work in Hatherleigh from my home in Meeth, instead of relying on my car all the time. The A386 road to Hatherleigh is incredibly dangerous, I wouldn't cycle or walk on it. I cringe when I see families with children on it trying to get to Hatherleigh, especially going up from the bridge where it winds uphill. It's about time this new route was in place.

Obvious and overdue but.. I've always come off at petrockstowe and take lanes via Sheepwash and I call in to shop and pub and spend money which has to be a good thing?

This would be a worthwhile extension to avoid using the busy main road to Hatherleigh. Anything which encourages people to exercise more in a safe environment should be a priority.

A very good petition

It would make a lot of sense for the Tarka trail to start/end in Hatherleigh where there are shops and amenities rather than just in Meeth. It would be mean that the Meeth to Petrockstowe section would get a lot more use.

This would be a great asset and enable cyclists to cycle from Plymouth to Barnstaple without going on a busy road

Make the link please. It would really enhance the popularity and usefulness of the trail.

The Tarka trail draws many low intensive carbon tourists to the area. Increasing it would help the council's no-carbon pledge together with providing safe family environments & a huge expanse of countryside for disabled people to enjoy easily. Hopefully it will link up to the granite way sometime in the future providing a 1st class family tourist in with relatively little expense as the core criteria is already in place. Dear Councillors, Please don't miss this excellent opportunity.
